Brightside offers a wide range of surgical services and post-operative care to around 4,500 patients each year. We have a 3 bedded intermediate care facility, which is a specialised post-operative ward for patients with medical conditions or surgical issues that require an enhanced level of monitoring and care, and equipped to support invasive monitoring, medical infusions, and a 24-hour monitoring service.

Our nurses receive specialised training to equip them with the knowledge and skills to deliver a more sophisticated level of care.

We are currently searching for a Clinical Nurse Educator to join our team. This is a 0.7 FTE position.

About the role :

You will be required to effectively support the delivery of pre and post-surgical care, to assist in staff development and provide clinical support throughout the Ward, PACU and Pre-admission areas.

You will work closely with the Clinical Duty Managers and Clinical Nurse Educators to actively support the Ward Manager and PACU Manager to achieve the strategic goals of Southern Cross Hospitals.

To be successful, you will need :

  • To be a Registered Nurse with a current practicing certificate
  • Have a post graduate qualification in nursing, management or a related discipline - or working towards one
  • 5 years recent post-graduate experience in a surgical hospital environment
  • Proven leadership experience and ability in operational management within a hospital
  • Clinical teaching experience
  • Conflict resolution experience
  • Knowledge of computer systems to an intermediate level
  • Proven expertise within a surgical hospital environment
  • Minimum PDRP Level 3
