Vision For Role

The Data Scientist role is a critical position for Qrious and lies at the heart of what the business is about - Data and Insights.

The Data Scientist will work closely with other data science team members, the sales team, and customers to identify and solve business challenges utilizing large structured, semi-

structured, and unstructured datasets. They will develop predictive statistical, behavioural or other models via supervised and unsupervised machine learning, statistical analysis, and other predictive modelling techniques.

The successful candidate will combine strengths in mathematics and applied statistics, computer science, visualization capabilities, and a healthy sense of exploration and knowledge acquisition.

Every member of the data science team is responsible for ensuring we deliver each customer analytics engagement at or above our customers' expectations.

The technologies that Qrious is using are world-class big data technologies and require the successful candidate to have the aptitude to adapt in this fast moving environment.

Functional Responsibilities

  • Data Science and bespoke customer analytics engagements
  • Pre-sales support
  • Supporting the analytical product development team
  • Experience & Qualifications

  • 3+ Years in data and analytics
  • Degree qualified (Post grad level preferred)
  • Commercial experience delivering advanced analytics projects.
  • Experience using R, Python, SAS, SPSS or similar tools.
  • Strong SQL skills
  • Knowledge of how predictive analytics can be used across a range of business use cases including segmentation, social network analysis, response modelling, and customer acquisition.
  • Understanding of big data
  • Experience using data visualisation tools such as Tableau, Qlik or Microsoft Power BI
