We are offering an opportunity for a Psychology Student Internship in our Mental Health and Addictions Service.The Internship will be for a fixed term period of 12 months and will offer valuable learning opportunities in both speciality areas of Adult Community Mental Health and Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services.
The successful candidate will receive appropriate supervision and opportunity to experience working in community / outpatient based mental health service (in the Taranaki Region) to children, youth and their families referred to CAMHS and also adults and their families referred to Community Mental Health Services.

The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Team provides a specialist service throughout Taranaki, for youth up to the age of 18 years inclusive, who are experiencing severe mental health difficulties.
The Adult Community Mental Health Team provide a specialist service from a multi disciplinary team to people from 18 years of age and their families experiencing severe mental health difficulties.
The Team works from its base site in New Plymouth and has satellite clinics in Hawera & Stratford. The service is structured around a diverse multi-
disciplinary team, which utilises a keyworker system of care of which individualised recovery plans, risk management, discharge planning and service co-
ordination are integral parts. These are developed with clients and their whanau. Taranaki is one of those magical places in the world where people come for a visit, and find they never want to leave.
