The position of Academic Staff member (Barbering) is both stimulating and multi-dimensional and the successful applicant will be a qualified Barber with 5 years industry experience and a passion for the industry.

You will need to be current with industry trends and services and have a drive for achieving excellence in teaching to ensure student success.

While the preferred candidate will have a teaching qualification and experience in the education sector, this is not essential.

We have two vacancies, one located at our Mokoia campus in Rotorua and the second in Tauranga at our Windermere campus.

The key responsibilities for this position include :

  • Delivery of programmes
  • Providing leadership in student management
  • Developing, planning and implementing student assessment, courses and resource material
  • Monitoring student progress and results and providing timely and accurate advice and support as required
  • Planning and timetabling for the programme as well as assisting with recruitment
  • The skills, experience and qualifications required for this role include :

  • 5 years industry experience
  • Tertiary Qualification
  • Teaching Qualification or the desire to work towards one
  • Experience in the education is desired but not essential
