Te Whiwhinga mahi The opportunity

We are currently looking for an experienced Technician to join our team on a 10 month 0.5 FTE to assist in a preclinical drug-trial in a rat model of a rare kidney disease by carrying out in vivo experiments and analysis of tissues using histology and molecular biology methods.

Accountabilities

  • Carry out experimental work under academic guidance to produce experimental data
  • Understand and comply with containment requirements
  • Ensure all consumables and materials are purchased and stocked appropriately
  • Assist in animal experimentation support
  • Train staff and students in specialist techniques and use of scientific equipment
  • You will demonstrate technical expertise in the practical skills, underlying knowledge and health and safety or compliance considerations relevant to your area, and guide others to undertake practical operations in a safe and effective manner.

    The successful candidate will join a friendly research team and work closely with other lab members such as PhD students and research fellows.

    There are six member of the lab all researching different aspects of kidney disease and health.
