Cities are where most of our people live and are crucial to NZ's success. Our work is centred around innovative urban resource management policy and planning.
An initial focus will be on implementation of the National Policy Statement for Urban Development and ongoing associated policy development.
We anticipate significant additional policy work will also be required to support the incoming government. You'll also have opportunities to contribute to long-term thinking about the resource management system.
Skills and experienceOur ideal candidate will offer : demonstrated experience in policy development and designproven experience delivering quality work in a fast-paced environmentdemonstrated skills in stakeholder management and engagement across diverse groupsa desire to influence and think creatively to achieve resultsstrong relationship management skills, quickly building credibility and trustcuriosity and openness to develop Te Ao Māori.
In addition, we are looking for particular experience in translating knowledge and insights about the housing and business development sector to support policy advice.
Experience with empirical data analysis is required along with experience (or a willingness to develop) skills in spatial data analysis (ie,GIS).
Most importantly you will be passionate about looking for realistic and commercially viable ways of achieving environmental outcomes.
