About the role

Our Safety & Wellbeing team have four (4) full time permanent opportunities for Health, Safety & Wellbeing Managers based in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington & Christchurch.

The Health, Safety & Wellbeing Manager actively supports Regional Commissioners and their leadership teams to continuously improve their health, safety and wellbeing cultures, systems and performance, by leading and coordinating the activities of a team of HSW business partnering professionals across their geographic regions (Northern Region, Central Region, Lower North, and Southern Region).

Your ability to lead a team of health and safety professionals, build effective relationship, and influence others is crucial.

Our Health, Safety & Wellbeing Managers are expected to provide strategic and analytical advice, plan and support the effective delivery of strategic programmes that influences improved health, safety and wellbeing outcomes at a regional level.

This opportunity calls for resilient and passionate health, safety & wellbeing managers, who are comfortable handling multiple priorities, dealing with concepts and complexities without getting caught up in excessive detail, and are able to build positive relationships as a trusted advisor to leaders.

  • Experience leading a team of health and safety professionals
  • Demonstrated ability to provide strategic and analytical advice, plan and deliver on strategic improvement programmes that influence improved HSW outcomes at a regional level
  • Timely decision making, while handling multiple priorities, and deals comfortably with concepts and complexities without getting caught up in excessive detail
  • Demonstrated ability to balance national strategic priorities with local / regional needs and interests
  • Strong focus on quality assurance and timeliness of outputs and deliverables
  • Clearly comfortable with objectively and impartially assessing HSW performance of local / regional teams and using this to guide areas of improvement
  • Knowledge of applied best practice in HSW business partnering
  • NEBOSH certified with Level 6 Dip and / or tertiary qualified in Occupational H&S or similar
