    Te Uru Rākau - New Zealand Forest Service has embarked on a multi-year programme to strengthen and deepen the provision of planning and advice to the Forestry sector and landowners.

    This Service will take a strategic national view of forests, forestry, and wood processing and use that to provide advice to optimise the sector, maximise the benefits of our forests, and support sustainable land management practice.

    The permanentrole of the Senior Advisor, Partner and Stakeholder Engagement is to frame-up and deliver the first iteration of the Partnering strategy and begin building the connections to our key stakeholders that will enable the strategy.

    Ideally this will be a Rotorua based position, however we are open to receiving applications from candidates in other locations.

    The salary band for this role is : $92,073 - $124,570 depending on skills and experience.

    You will bring your reputable stakeholder engagement and communication skills to this exciting new position, collaborating to define delivery channels, identify stakeholder groups and outlining engagement capabilities and methods.

    If you are someone who thrives on establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders, by implementing appropriate engagement strategies that build and sustain effective relationships which build stakeholder capability to maximise participation, we are keen to hear from you.

    Other key capabilities we are looking for include :

  • A tertiary qualification in economics, law, science, resource management, agricultural, forestry, fisheries, horticultural or health;
  • or a related discipline.

  • Significant experience in establishing and effectively maintaining collaborative relationships with stakeholders, Māori and Government and non-governmental agencies.
  • Extensive existing internal and external networks.

  • Significant experience in strategic and intellectual leadership.
  • Substantial agency experience involving analysis, internal and external consultation, engagement, and interaction with decision makers.
  • Experience in business planning processes.
  • Experience managing priority projects and work programmes.
  • Experience in determining stakeholder and customer needs and establishing mechanisms for meeting these.
  • A strong track record of achievement of results.
  • Experience in drafting advice and formal briefing papers.
  • An agile and solution focussed work approach in the face of change.
  • Ability to deal with concepts and complexity comfortably.

    Join our dynamic and diverse Te Uru Rākau New Zealand Forest Service team who all share the common goal of improving the social, environmental and economic outcomes for New Zealand.

    You will be part of a team that will frame-up and deliver the first iteration of the Partnering Strategy to underpin our enhanced advisory service including continuing the development of our Māori Engagement Strategy.

    This team will also consolidate and build our advice offering, linking with our other units to streamline advice by customer segment, channel, and product type.

    Looking into the future, the team will also map ways our advice services can deepen and mature in the coming years.
