We are seeking a full time Community Health Care Assistant to be based primarily in the Child & Family west team at the Snelgar Building at Waitakere Hospital community site, who will work as required across Child Health West services, Waitemata.
The main duties will include :
Assisting public health nurses with school based immunisation programmes and health early prevention programmes in schools
Supporting Vision Hearing technicians with the vision and hearing screening programme in schools and preschools
Supporting the Childrens Community Nursing team and the wider Community Child Health Team with supplies, clerical support and group preparation
Supporting booking clinics, providing clerical support and maintaining accurate records including data entry. Some home visiting will be required to assist and support the public health nursing team
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in working with children and families (ideally in a school or health setting), good communication skills, and be computer literate : MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
A full drivers licence is essential for this role.
You will need to be self-motivated and have the ability to work independently as well as enjoying working as part of a team in a busy environment.
Your good sense of humour would be an asset in this key position.
