Do you have an entrepreneurial spirit, enjoy fast growth and are looking for something new and exciting? This is an exciting role for a seasoned sales professional to be part of a high-performance sales team and a rare opportunity to join our business development team.

EROAD is New Zealand’s largest telematics company. We have been experiencing phenomenal growth, are well funded and backed by a large R&D and product team.

The position will work closely with colleagues across New Zealand and drive the growth of new customers in your region. You must be a hunter who isn’t afraid of knocking down doors, have a high commercial acumen and ability to explain complex return on investments across a diverse range of industries.

Depending on your location you will travel regularly covering customers in the central North Island and Auckland.

To succeed in this role you must be able to solution sell and gain an intimate understanding of EROAD’s products and services and the way they benefit customers.

Ideally you will have knowledge of heavy transport and / or civil and utilities. You will need to have an entrepreneurial attitude, ability to adopt change, and can change your sales techniques to various target segments as opportunity arises.

Working in an autonomous nature you will have the ability to wear multiple hats and help consult on EROAD’s strategic sales direction in your region.

A self-driven attitude is a must, as well as a thorough understanding of the New Zealand market, and potential customers.

The role will consist of but not limiting to :

  • Prospecting new business and new sales in your region, through a combination of cold calling, phone demonstrations, face to face meetings, networking and closing warm leads
  • Preparing sales proposals and presentations
  • Meeting and exceeding sales targets
  • Ensuring all activity is recorded in our CRM system
  • Work with stakeholders within EROAD and the customers’ business to develop and execute implementation plans
  • Ongoing engagement with customer across their lifecycle with EROAD, ensuring EROAD is embedded in their business
  • Growing, on-boarding, sign up, training and ongoing management of referral partners
  • Taking a strategic view to growth and sharing experiences with the Australian team.
  • Requirements

  • History of success in sales and a competitive nature.
  • Proven ability in solution selling.
  • Knowledge of heavy transport and / or civil would be an asset
  • Proven ability to respond and win new business, either through direct proposals or RFP’s
  • Strong influencing and relationship building skills internally and externally.
  • Able to adapt to a fast-moving product development roadmap.
  • Strong competencies in business proposal writing, presentation preparation and delivery.
  • Calm under pressure able to multi-task, and manage fluctuating workloads
  • Strong relationship, negotiation skills.
  • Experience

  • Minimum 5-8 years of sales experience in a solution selling environment with a history of exceeding sales targets.
  • Proven ability to prospect, demonstrate software, and close deals over the phone.
  • Experience within the telematics industry, or an associated industry an asset.
  • An excellent reputation as a reliable and customer focused sales professional.
  • Experience in delivering business change relating to H&S measures, operational performance would be an asset.
