What we do

Te Whare Manaaki is a Secure Forensic Unit. The unit is mixed and our staffing reflects this with the agreed gender ratio.

The Forensic Service is a fulfilling and dynamic environment with opportunities to further your knowledge and expertise.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for four professional and highly motivated Registered Nurses to join us for full time fixed term and a permanent basis.

We pride ourselves on working as a team in collaboration and partnership with consumers and family / whanau. We strive to work within our philosophy to develop therapeutic, supportive and empowering relationships with consumers, to enable them to achieve their personal goals and aspirations.

  • Previous mental health experience is essential.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • A current NZ Driving Licence.
  • The positions are based on a roster thus flexibility across all shifts (morning, afternoon, and night) is imperative the shifts follow a 4 days on, 2 days off roster pattern (for a full time position).
  • A comprehensive staff orientation package is provided.
  • If you have a current NZ Registered Nursing Practising Certificate that includes a scope of practice for Mental Health, then this could be the new career challenge for you.

    There are 0.94 FTE permanent and fixed term positions available. There could be some flexibility to consider part time as well, but this will be on a case-by-case basis.
