    About the role

    The School of Health & Counselling is looking for a Science Lecturer for our NZ Study and Career Prep programmes which lead into nursing and Health programmes.

    We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated person who has the drive and passion for teaching excellence.

    The successful applicant will be passionate about tertiary education, highly motivated and able to positively relate with diverse groups of people.

    We require a dynamic, performance driven and experienced individual to join our busy team.

    This will involve :

  • Work with the teaching team to deliver the science component of the programme
  • Planning and delivering courses using effective teaching methods and materials appropriate to the students and alignment with our program document.
  • Embedding Literacy and Numeracy learning activities in all subjects as required
  • Ensuring all assessments, marking, feedback, moderation, and reassessment are completed as per programme document and MIT policies and guidelines.
  • Facilitating interactive teaching sessions both in class, online and in labs
  • Provide necessary academic and pastoral support to learners
  • Skills and experience

  • Bachelor's degree of Science
  • Post Graduate qualification preferred
  • Relevant discipline-based practice
  • An adult teaching qualification at level 5 or above
  • Experience in teaching and / or mentoring adults
  • Experience in working with diverse groups of people
  • Excellent communication, time management and organizational skills
  • Experience in teaching and assessment of students
  • Culture
