We are looking for experienced, quick thinking, and dynamic registered nurses to join our team. We have permanent, temporary or casual positions available within a variety of nursing specialities.

  • Current New Zealand Annual Practicing Certificate
  • Acute medical surgical experience
  • 1 year NZ nursing experience
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Excellent communication skills with a positive attitude
  • Ability to be flexible and prioritise
  • Provide best-practice within a multi-disciplinary team
  • For permanent or temporary positions you must have the ability to work rostered rotating shifts which include nights.

    General Information

    MidCentral District Health Board employs more than 2500 staff at Manawatu, Palmerston North, Tararua and Horowhenua and Otaki districts.

    Palmerston North Hospital is a 350 bed secondary hospital, which services an urban population of 80,000 and a total population catchment of 168,000.

    In addition, the hospital is a teaching hospital, and is associated with both Auckland and Otago medical schools.

    Palmerston North is a major university city and is at the hub of key routes to the central North Island ski fields, and river adventures.

    Wellington the capital city, is only a two hour journey by road, as are the wine growing regions of Hawke's Bay and Wairarapa.
