    About the role :

    This role is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and innovative person to be at the forefront of change within the digital safety space.

    Key to your success in this role will be the specialist expertise and advice you contribute to the evolving nature of threats and harm, along with an exceptional standard of practice to our investigation techniques and methodology.

    This role will be highly collaborative; you will need the confidence and proven ability to develop and manage relationships at all levels of the Ministry and be comfortable with creating new connections with our external bodies and key stakeholders.

    You will bring senior investigation and CVE experience and be able to demonstrate the ability to work at pace and to deliver smart solutions to complex problems.

    It goes without saying you can provide credible and pragmatic advice in line with operational standards, legislations and best practice.

    The scope of this role includes :

  • Confidence to apply your skills and knowledge across a breadth of investigation and DVE disciplines to solve problems, deliver on deadlines and drive a result driven approach.
  • Be comfortable with access to highly sensitive information and exercise sound judgement in protecting it whilst adhering to all relevant rules and regulations.
  • Must be able to demonstrate experience working in a digital environment
  • An ability to convey complex investigation issues succinctly verbally and in writing
  • Flexibility and resilience to handle changing and competing demands
  • Maintain sound understanding of key threats and system vulnerabilities and engage proactively to mitigate the impact.
  • Demonstrate a broad understanding of legislation and procedure associated with cybercrime and the use of data in investigations and intelligence development.
  • Be flexible in approach and self-motivated with the ability to solve problems and think critically.
  • Proven experience in continuous improvement activities where capability gaps have been identified and solutions implemented.
  • Aptitude in preparing high quality written documentations to support criminal investigations and act as a point of contact with external partners.
  • Bring extensive experience in mitigating risk associated with potential or highly suspicious activity and the impact on our investigation processes and procedures.
  • Support wider team and colleagues to make smart decision and help with resource and work priorities.
  • Experience in capturing investigation evidence and in identifying, prioritising and solving more complex crime related issues with strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Can lead small projects and participate in cross-functional projects, offering solutions and influencing decisions on key deliverables.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work with limited supervision as part of a small team, being able to prioritise workloads.
  • Awareness of legal and legislative requirements associated with digital evidence and impacts on process.
  • Candidates must be a NZ citizen or resident and able to obtain Top Security clearance as well as undergo a rigorous vetting process and psychometric testing.
