MFAT are looking for an enthusiastic, customer focused Group Business Accountant to join the Group Business and Financial Support Unit operating under an account management model.

Key Responsibilities :
As the Group Management Accountant, you will :
Work with business managers across all levels to understand their business
Add value and provide sound financial business advice to assist manager's decision making to meet their financial responsibilities.
Budgeting, forecasting and management reporting
Strategic and operational financial planning advice, capital budgeting and review business proposals and cases
Delivering a high level of technical and analytical expertise across the broader business through identification of opportunities for process improvement.
Key Requirements :
Chartered Accountancy qualification (desired)
Experience supporting internal and external stakeholders
Demonstrated business partnering ability
Demonstrated strong communication and influencing skills
Previous State Sector financial experience is desirable
Extensive experience working as a management accountant in a large, complex organisation.
The ability to translate financial concepts into easy to understand language
Experience with the development a robust financial reporting and management framework
You must be able to obtain and maintain an appropriate New Zealand Government Security clearance
You must hold New Zealand citizenship.
