While this is a great way of working and delivering software at speed, they still need someone to keep an eye on their capability.
Enter the Chapter Lead who plays a key role in bridging the delivery of the platform and the ability of squads to deliver, by growing their skills through coaching and mentoring, and building the engineering capability across the chapter.
So you won't be personally responsible for the delivery, but empowering the squads who are.The Chapter Lead has the remit to do this their own way, but growth is usually done through observation, hands-
on mentoring, knowledge transfer, training, tools and staying close to the squads to drive open communication.Speaking of open communication, the Chapter Lead also works with the Platform Owner to ensure the squad is fit to deliver the current and future goals of the platform.
About you : You started your career in software engineering and while you grew into a leader, you've always been close to code and passionate about driving software engineering best practice.
Your personality is one of a coach, mentor, role model, tech crackerjack type of empowering leader who is hands-on in the professional, personal and technical empowerment of those around you.
Experience staying close to code, ideally in .Net would be great, with the willingness to learn or demonstrate experience in any of the following : MicroservicesEvent-
driven architecture using platforms like KafkaContainerisation with tools like Kubernetes or DockerCloud platforms including Azure or AWSDevOps techniquesWe'd love someone who's worked under agile methodology in a modern work culture as you'll need to bring others with you, into a growth mind-
