  • Wellington location Te Whiwhinga mahi The opportunity As Lead Strategy Advisor you will work within our project team to further develop Waka Kotahi's regulatory strategy and plan for its implementation.
  • By providing high-quality leadership, analysis and advice you will ensure the strategy and implementation plan are fit-for-purpose and work for both internal and external stakeholders.

    Working collaboratively with Regulatory Services and other business groups across the organisation you will help join the dots together and connect people and work programmes.

    Ko koe tēnei About you To be successful in this role, you will bring :

  • Proven experience in a similar role, developing successful strategies to inform and guide whole-of-system planning and thinking
  • Demonstrated experience in using information to provide evidence for continuous improvement.
  • Solid understanding of regulatory frameworks and the machinery of Government
  • Strong written communication skills and experience writing board / ELT papers
  • Top notch interpersonal and stakeholder management skills Ko wai mātou About us Waka Kotahi is the primary regulator responsible for managing land transport safety and one of the regulators responsible for managing other harms in the land transport system.
  • Te Rōpu Waeture, the Regulatory Services Group, is accountable for delivering regulatory activities that help to ensure people, vehicles, and rail and commercial organisations meet the required standards to be safe, and are able to access and use the transport system.

    You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori.

    You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.
