Our internationally recognised Tier 1 construction team is involved in most of New Zealand’s largest construction and infrastructure projects, including major transport, building and energy projects, PPPs, and commercial and residential developments.

In this role, you will be part of our busy national construction team working with a wide range of clients including construction companies, principals, local authorities and Government agencies, advising clients at every stage of the project from the early procurement stage through to dispute resolution and litigation.

If you have :

  • 4-8 years’ of experience in construction disputes and back-end work
  • developed skills in opinion writing and drafting of pleadings, evidence and submissions (some front-end experience would be an advantage too)
  • deep knowledge of common standard form construction contracts, including NZS3910
  • a working familiarity with the Construction Contracts Act, the adjudication process and arbitration and court processes
  • experience advising on issues involving delay, disruption and prevention
  • work experience which demonstrates your initiative, commitment and drive for excellence
  • a desire to work closely with clients as one of their trusted advisors
  • the ability to contribute within a strong and collaborative team environment
  • an aspiration to consolidate your career as a recognised expert in construction law
