We are currently hiring a UI Designer to join the company and our mission where you will work closely with your UX colleagues, as well as Product Managers, Software Engineers and be responsible for the end-to-end design process : from discovery to concept design, to detailed design, to working closely with the extended team to get the best possible product to the market.

Gentrack is a 500 person, growing business, listed in the public markets of New Zealand and Australia. The main people centres are in London, Auckland, Melbourne and Pune.

In this role you can expect to :

  • Be involved in the full product design life cycle (from concept to detailed specification to implementation)
  • Help evangelise UX processes at a project level.
  • Work closely with your UX colleagues, as well as Product Managers, Software Engineers and be responsible for the end-to-end design process : from discovery, research and concept design, to detailed design, working closely with the extended team to get the best possible product to the market
  • Work hand in hand with the product management team to understand desired design outcomes and use design thinking techniques to produce solutions that optimise the user experience
  • What you need to be successful :

  • At least 3 years experience as a UX / UI Designer
  • Solid understanding of Agile UX design and software development methodology as you will work in close collaboration with Engineers
  • Someone who is outcome focused, can demonstrate it (a portfolio of design successes would be great) and understand the interaction between company objectives and user needs
  • Experience within the utilities industry would be a plus
  • Ability to lead and manage a range of activities from workshops to prototyping and testing with users
  • Proficiency of creating user flows, wireframes, prototypes and visual designs
  • Excellent communication skills
