Wakari location

  • Permanent, part-time position (0.6 FTE, 24 hours per week)
  • Fast paced non-clinical hospital environment
  • Dunedin location (Wakari)
  • Here at the Southern DHB we put our patients at the centre of everything we do. We are looking for an experienced advisor / administrator to join us in the role of Official Information Act (OIA) Advisor.

    About the Role what’s in it for me?

    The main purpose of your role will be to ensure efficient and timely coordination of all requests made to the Southern DHB under the Official Information Act 1982.

    This is a busy role with a constant stream of work.

    Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to) :

  • Management and coordination of responses for all OIA requests
  • Ensure all OIA requests are managed in line with legislative requirements and timeframes
  • Providing support and advice regarding OIA responses to SDHB staff and managers, including advice around obligations under the Official Information Act and guidance from the Office of the Ombudsman
  • Accurate data capture and reporting on OIA activity
  • Strong focus on maintaining up to date records and files in SDHB systems
  • To succeed in this role you will need to have :

  • Relevant experience in a busy advisor / administration role
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with an eye for detail
  • A pro-active approach with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Great organisation and time management skills
  • Preference for structured, time-critical work and processes
  • A positive attitude and professional communication style
  • Resilience, resourcefulness, and bags of initiative
  • Preference for being a completer / finisher type person
