    About the team

    As part of our wider Corporate Services Leadership team, and working directly with the Financial Controller, you'll lead a team of seven that delivers a large volume of monthly financial transaction processing services for Transpower.

    About the role

    Leading and working alongside your team, you'll ensure excellent customer service and accuracy across the following key service lines :

  • Transaction processing (accounts payable, vouchers, procure-to-pay processes)
  • Commercial card and expense management functions
  • Expense and payment audit functions
  • Billing and receivables
  • Payroll and reporting
  • Banking and disbursements
  • Treasury settlements
  • Working collaboratively with the Manager Financial Systems and Manager Financial Reporting and Controls you'll prepare project plans for and implement functional and control changes relating to transaction processing, payments, settlements and payroll in Transpower's core FMIS, sub-

    systems and third-party systems.

    This includes the following :

  • Functional System Plans - from development of plans including progression to approval stage and then implementation
  • Project Planning - preparation and approval covering the design, configuration and testing of changes to financial management information system (FMIS) and related finance sub-systems
  • Change Management - development and implementation of change plans which encompass training of staff in order to implement functional system changes, communications, training and stakeholder management

    What will you bring

    A customer-focus, hands-on leadership style and innate people and influencing skills. You'll be passionate about process and technology and have the commercial smarts and ability to pivot to embrace the challenges and opportunities that come with change, as we look towards Te Mauri Hiko - Energy Futures.

    With experience in a financial management or operational service delivery role, your application and career to date will demonstrate the following :

  • Financial management and internal controls experience - ideally seven or more years' coupled with Charted Accountant designation, although equivalent experience is also acceptable
  • Systems know-how - excellent financial systems knowledge and experience including a solid understanding of financial controls, system controls, reconciliations and audit routines
  • Advisory services capability - proven ability to translate financial management policy and the control framework into practical processes and procedures;
  • this includes advising internal customers of their accountabilities

  • Process design and improvement - share with us your experience of driving using technology solutions to drive automation and improvement
  • Design and delivery of authority / decision rights control services for a large corporate business, through system design, configuration and process definition
