We're on the search for an energetic, enthusiastic, self-motivated, super passionate Deployment Engineer to join our Network Delivery Chapter at Spark.

This will be a role based in either Auckland, Hamilton or Wellington.

About the role / team :

Reporting to the Chapter Lead / Lead Delivery Enabler for Network Delivery, our Project team comprises of Project Managers and Deployment Engineers based in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington and Queenstown.

We are looking for a RAN Deployment Engineer to join this highly skilled, high performing team to design and deliver complex solutions.

We are working on large scale nationwide infrastructure and delivery projects in RAN, so an excellent track record and confidence in understanding how to solution and deploy a RAN site is essential.

We'd be keen to talk to you if :

  • You have proven technical skills in RAN with 3G,4G (and potentially 5G new site builds & expansions.
  • You're an experienced Deployment Engineer or RAN Technician of 5+ years.
  • You have experience working in complex projects and with multi-functional teams.
  • You've got strong interpersonal skills including mentoring, coaching, collaborating, and team building.
  • Ideally you will also have an understanding of construction industry practices and Health & Safety practices.
  • Experience in Agile delivery or hybrid ways of working would be beneficial.
  • You enjoy being part of a diverse and inclusive team environment.
  • You've got a creative approach to problem-solving are resilient, able to adapt to change with the ability to focus on details while maintaining the "big picture" view.
  • A Deployment Engineer's role is to :

  • Pre-plan, design, management and delivery of RAN site.
  • Contribute to on-going development of support documentation for Sparks Standards.
  • Analyse and troubleshoot deployment challenges.
  • Forecast cost estimates for the build work.
  • Drive & Monitor project progress and update Sparks project tools & stakeholders.
  • Forecast equipment required for the build work.
  • Prepare scope of works for Service contractors.
  • Liaise with service companies for build services.
  • Liaise with external consultants and utility services providers in design and implementation.
  • Liaise with equipment vendors.
  • Acceptance of services from contactors as per Sparks standards and specifications.
