    Our GIS Team is leading the way when it comes to innovation, digitalisation and creativity. We are utilising GIS Technology with real time data to create live mapping of public transport against timetables and schedules to provide better services to Auckland City!

    We have a phenomenal opportunity for a GIS Technical Lead to join our dynamic, collaborative and driven team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing GIS technical support and project delivery leadership in support of our operational programmes relating to geospatial data and solution development, governance and stewardship.

    You will also provide support and mentorship to other GIS staff as required, and assist the Geospatial Manager in managing workflows, supervising and progressing the team.

    To achieve this, your deep technical expertise will be complemented by your ability to lead and direct projects and people to achieve the right outcomes.

    This is a fantastic opportunity for an emerging People Leader or a very Senior GIS Analyst looking for that next step in their career.

    To be successful in this exceptional opportunity, you will ideally have :

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Geography, Geographic Information systems or Spatial Science
  • Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist in Azure
  • 7 years experience in a similar role contributing to the development of quality spatial technology based solutions, analysis of data, and the presentation of solutions
  • Substantial experience using ESRI ArcGIS
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Expert level experience in ArcGIS Portal and application support (bespoke and COTS)
  • Practical experience and knowledge of spatial ETL technology (Safe Software's FME) would be a distinct advantage.
  • Ability to manage personal workloads to be able to meet client expectations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong understanding of GIS workflows and data / process limitations.
  • Flexibility in approach and an ability to work independently in a fluid environment with the ability to balance priorities to meet goals and targets.
