Auckland City, AucklandJob Summary.We are looking for an experienced Pastry Sous Chef to join our Pastry kitchen, with a proven background in a similar role in a busy pastry kitchen.
Hotel experience will be highly regarded and preferably with experience in wedding cakes.Our Sous Chef will exhibit creative baking and decorating talents by personally performing tasks while leading the staff in preparing quality and consistent pastries for all areas.
Works to continually improve guest and employee satisfaction while maintaining the operating budget. Supervises all pastry areas to ensure a consistent, high quality product is produced.
Responsible for guiding and developing staff including direct reports.Key Responsibilities will include : Work with the Executive Pastry Chef to develop product & service initiatives, be creative in the design and implementation of on going food conceptsEnsuring the team is supported and completing allocated tasks on time, training them to be able to run the section in your absenceMaintain a high level of functionality and efficiency, demonstrating food cost control practicesEnsure high standards of hygiene as per HACCP standards within the kitchen as well as your sectionRequirement.
Skills & ExperiencePrevious experience as a Pastry Chef de Partie, preferably in a 5 star hotel environmentAbility to 'think outside the square' and have a creative flareAn up to date food hygiene certificateProven ability to work in a fast-
