This security design engineer is responsible for the design of security platforms and services for Vodafone internal and external customers.
It is an opportunity to make a lasting impact on the security of one of New Zealand’s largest client bases.
You will act as the Design owner of all security platforms and capabilities, ensuring effective capacity and lifecycle management is in place, and will be the information security SME for the business.
What Will I Be Doing?
Play a key role in the design of all internal Information Security systems that affect the entire organisation
Deliver accurate, cost effective designs which are aligned to architectural, design and operational requirements considering all E2E impacts
Own capacity and lifecycle management for security platforms
Contribute to development of domain roadmaps and Technology Security plan
Build strong relationship with key stakeholders
Assess technical security risks and provide cost-effective mitigations aligned with Technology and Business strategies
Support the pre-sales process through design and customer consultancy as required
Provide expert Information Security consultancy to all areas of the business
Maintain operational integrity through compliance with operational processes and assist Security Operations in resolution of significant technical faults
What Will I Bring?
Demonstrable expertise in designing and supporting Information Security platforms in complex customer environments, Cloud (AWS / Azure) and shared services infrastructure : Network Security Firewalls / IPS / VPN / Proxies / DDoS Access Control Systems Security Event Monitoring Vulnerability Assessment Information Protection
Information Security & Vendor Security certifications are a bonus
Experience with DevOps / DevSecOps practices and approach to delivery
Experience in operate, build and design with the following vendors’ security products - Bluecoat, Check Point, F5, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Zscaler, Symantec, Cisco, Juniper, Arcsight
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Ability to engage and contribute within a high performing and diverse team
Able to interpret customer requirements, translate them into a fit-for-purpose design and then execute solution delivery
Must be adaptable and flexible to the needs of the organisation
