About the Role

Coronial Services are currently looking for an Auckland based full time Coronial Case Manager.

You will be working in a fast-changing environment that will require a high level of agility and resiliency.

You will have strong interpersonal skills that will support your work with the Coroner, but also be capable of dealing with distraught family members in sensitive circumstances.

An ability to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds is essential.

You will be expected to provide excellent and highly organised case management support to our Coroners. You will need to build and maintain excellent relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Your duties will include :

  • consulting and liaising with parties, including families / whānau and significant others of people who have died, counsel, coroners and police to progress the case
  • providing up to date information to coroners and parties on the status of a case
  • supporting the coroner at inquests
  • completing actions as required following hearings

    If you have the following key skills, then we would like to hear from you :

  • Work effectively and calmly in stressful situations
  • Be able to handle viewing graphic coronial material
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Great at multi-tasking -prioritising tasks and managing a larger caseload
  • Enjoy working in a reactive as well as a proactive and fast paced environment
  • Professional and confident phone manner
  • Exceptional record-keeping skills with accurate typing and data entry
  • A good working knowledge of Word and Excel
  • Ability to work both with direction and independently
  • A desire to learn and adapt
  • Relevant previous experience from any other similar roles
  • Able to work remotely effectively and often with more than one Coroner
  • As travel may be required from time to time, you must be able to travel, sometimes at short notice. You will need to hold a full New Zealand Drivers' Licence.

    This is a challenging role that will allow you to utilise your empathy, case management experience, people and relationship management skills to a high level and be part of the team that provides New Zealanders with a first-class Coronial Service.
