Your OpportunityAs Senior Safety Manager, you will Provide Health and Safety subject matter expertise, guidance and support to Projects and Business Unit leadership teams across our New Zealand operations.
You will be a key driver and advocate for our safety change program "Everyone Safe" that was introduced in early 2019 and seeks sustainable improvement in the way we plan, adapt and deliver safe work.
Other responsibilities include but are not limited to : Lead H&S staff to ensure accurate, timely and responsive H&S services are provided to all projects and support staff across New ZealandDevelopment and implement standards to ensure projects comply with H&S regulatory and governance requirements.
Ensure H&S personnel monitor and conduct regular H&S compliance checks and audits including; reporting breaches, non-compliance reports, recommending remedial actions.
Ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements and all relevant CPB Contractors and CIMIC Group Policies and proceduresDevelop and maintain records for monthly and quarterly reporting to National SHEQ ManagerLead and develop an effective and productive H&S team, ensuring safety and support is available to all CPB Contractors staff and external subcontractors at all timesMinimum requirements for this role include : Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a Safety and Health Management capacity, ideally in a heavy industry, complex infrastructure, road or vertical construction environmentDemonstrated experience in leading a Health and safety division inside a large complex organisation with mature systems and processes.
Tertiary Safety and Health qualifications Bachelor’s degree in OHS or similar, ISO 45001 (orNZ4801) and ISO Lead Auditor qualificationsExperience in driving change across a complex environment including proven internal relationship building communication, problem solving and negotiation skills.
Detailed knowledge and experience in the application and governance of H&S or other integrated management systems including verification of process, where H&S procedure has a broad behavioural and cultural interface and impact.
Possess an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the New Zealand Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and the application of legislative and regulative and regulatory framework in New Zealand.
