Social Worker Assistant- Acute Inpatient(TWT) unitInnovative serviceRecovery focusedOn-going staff education and supportTe Whetu Tawera acute inpatient mental health unit is a 58 bedded unit in a modern purpose built facility, at the main Auckland City Hospital site.

It is made up of two wards and an intensive care ward that service both adult male and female clients. We are located next to the beautiful Auckland City Domain, close to the scenic harbour and the City Centre, with immediate access to all the major Motorways - North, South and West bound.

You’ll work in a multi disciplinary team with a focus on inter disciplinary practice. Your tasks will include assisting service users with arrangements around transport, accommodation, income support, completing WINZ documentation and other ad hoc tasks as directed by the Charge Nurse and Social Workers.

This work requires a proactive and enthusiastic person who has excellent interpersonal skills. The role also requires a commitment to team work and willingness to follow directions.

A full NZ driver’s licence is required.Level 4 Certificate in Mental Health Support Work and knowledge of community resources is highly advantageous.

You will be able to grow your skills and support a fantastic team as you assist social workers to carry out their duties.

You will be well supported by the team to demonstrate and develop your skills.This is a permanent full-time role, Monday to Friday based in Auckland City Hospital.
