We are looking for an enthusiastic Sous Chef to work at our Education site in Wellington. In terms times only for Education Sector, hours of work are Full Time, Monday to Friday and some weekend work.
In this position you will be responsible for assisting the Unit Manager with the daily operation of the Kitchen and preparing, cooking and presenting food ensuring the quality of every dish we serve! You will need to be able to cook within budget, assist with ordering, menu development, maintain Safe Food practices, as well as ensure the health and wellbeing of our customers through allergen and nutrition management.
You will need to train and develop onsite staff to continuously improve operations and performance.
If you're our perfect candidate you will be hard working, with a friendly outgoing personality and a 'can do' attitude. You will already have at least 5 years' proven work experience in a similar Chef position with relevant leadership experience and you will hold Food Safety certificates (Unit Standard 167 and 168).
You will have a confident and creative cooking style with a strong emphasis on quality and presentation and be a great communicator.
You will be able to juggle multiple demands within a challenging environment but most importantly you will demonstrate a passion for great food, customer service and quality.
