About the Role
We have two exciting, newly created opportunities within our Official Correspondence team reporting to the Manager, Organisational Support, which is part of the Corporate Services Group at Te Arawhiti.
You will play a critical role in this team to improve official correspondence practices across Te Arawhiti, Māori Crown Relations.
The Advisor and Senior Advisor are responsible for providing Ministerial and official correspondence expertise and oversight, and drafting responses to complex and sensitive requests.
The roles will require a sound knowledge of relevant legislation and machinery of government.
You will also provide support to the team by providing peer reviews, coaching and technical advice to the team, and building correspondence capability within the team and across Te Arawhiti.
You will report and analyse trends, identify issues and engage with others to seek solutions to continually improve services.
We're looking for a can do' attitude. You must be someone who has a strong service ethic, who takes ownership of their work and drives it through delivery.
The roles will require an ability to prioritise and reprioritise a busy, fast paced work programme. You will be comfortable dealing with a reasonable level of ambiguity.
You will need to be able to see the bigger picture and make connections across work areas.
The role is highly collaborative, and you will need the confidence to develop and manage relationships at all levels across Te Arawhiti.

The Official Correspondence team oversees and drafts responses to official correspondence, including Official Information Act and Privacy Act requests, Ministerial correspondence, Parliamentary questions and other pieces of correspondence for Te Arawhiti.
