ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Planning Guidance Unit Manager, this role is an integral part of the Leadership Team. You will be responsible for offering advice and support across a range of functions across the unit.

  • Lead all business functions within the Planning Guidance Unit.
  • Provide outstanding leadership to our Business Support team and ensure delivery of business support services.
  • Oversee delivery of the business service level agreement / performance metrics.
  • Establish and implement learning and development initiatives in partnership with the OD Team.
  • Lead and manage all monitoring, audit and compliance requirements including statutory and organisational KPI's.
  • Work alongside the Unit Manager to oversee budget and Long Term Plan (LTP) inputs.
  • Work closely with the Unit Manager and Team Leads to provide timely responses to complex political and public enquiries.

    We are looking for a big thinker; someone with high emotional intelligence who is decisive and agile in times of change.

    The key technical skills and experience we are looking for are :

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in business management, public management or other related qualification.
  • 7+ years' experience including experience with significant responsibility for business systems.
  • Working knowledge of business improvement and quality systems.
  • Experience working with budgets, and financial / business reporting.
  • Proven leadership skill and highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Project management skills, including the ability to drive multiple end-to-end projects simultaneously.
  • Refined written communication and oral presentation skills.
