My client is a leading provider of mental health services from a Kaupapa Maori perspective and a strong multi - disciplinary approach.
As an organisation it has taken on the important responsibility of providing high quality, culturally appropriate generic and nursing-
specific assessment, treatment, referral and liaison / consultation services to Maori and non-Maori whanau and significant others.
Currently my client requires Forensic Mental Health nurses or nurses with an interested in developing their forensic nursing skills.
Ideally you will have an understanding of the the four principles of Hauora health and wellbeing : Taha Tinana (Physical Wellbeing -
health) Taha Hinengaro (Mental & Emotional wellbeing - self-confidence) Taha Whanau (Social Wellbeing - self-esteem) and Taha Wairua (Spiritual wellbeing -
personal beliefs) You’ll be working in New Zealand's only Maori registered psychiatric hospital in a beautiful rural location on the outskirts of Hamilton.
The role is based in a minimum security residential unit the operates with a 24 / 7 roster.
Fluency in Te Reo is advantageous although our client is primarily looking for someone who has a genuine Hauora affinity and wants to care for those at risk who may be physically or mentally challenged with an interest or experience in forensic nursing.
