Project Manager COVID-19 Immunisation Programme

Southern region : Otago / Southland / Central Otago

  • Fixed term, fulltime, 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week); negotiable down to 0.7 FTE (56 hours per fortnight)
  • Vaccination Implementation programme until 31 December 2022
  • Here at the Southern DHB we have two opportunities for a Project Manager role as part of our Covid-19 Vaccination roll-out across the Southern region.

    About the Opportunity

    The purpose of this role is to work within the Covid-19 Vaccination Immunisation Programme to support providers in increasing uptake of the Covid-19 vaccine and all immunisations across the district.

    The project manager will use data to develop plans and work with communities and providers to ensure equity in access to Covid-19 immunisations across the Southern region.

    The role will have a key focus on improving rates within Māori and Pacifica populations, aged residential care, disability centres, mental health residential, rural and urban centres, and vulnerable communities.

    This role shall work closely with the COVID-19 Vaccination programme team, WellSouth PHO team and other SDHB departments for Immunisation roll-out.

    Specifically, this role shall be responsible for :

  • Working with providers to develop a robust plan for the ongoing delivery of all immunisations
  • Consulting with key groups and stakeholders to increase immunisation uptake and ensure there are no barriers to access
  • Working with Primary Care teams and other stakeholders to ensure that clinics are established and that every clinic has systems in place to support safe and effective care.
  • Working stakeholders to develop options for vaccine delivery
  • Identifying key resources required to get the actions delivered and prioritised
  • Ongoing monitoring of the implementation plan and managing risk
  • Ensure all plans have an equity focus
  • This is a full-time fixed term position however hours of work can be negotiable for the right candidate.

    About you

    We are seeking a Project Manager who is able to hit the ground running as part of our Project Management team dedicated to the successful roll-out of the Covid-19 Vaccination to the Southern District region (from Oamaru to Stewart Island).

    Preferably the successful candidate will be able to start in this role from mid-late June 2022.

    Requirements for the role :

  • Tertiary qualification in relevant discipline
  • Relevant experience in Project Management / delivery including planning, budgeting, financial process tracking, workstream management, risk and issue management
  • Ability to engage across a number of different stakeholders and independent clinics to provide cohesive leadership to the roll-out plan.
  • Ability to build clinical relationships in order to plan, consult and communicate effectively across our primary and secondary services.
  • Leadership ability, including strategic and forward-thinking, ability to analyse and synthesize input from broad spectrum of stakeholders, and identify opportunities for improvement
