Permanent and fixed-term positions available Te Uru Rauhi, Mental Health and Addiction Services at MidCentral DHB have opportunities for experienced and enthusiastic registered nurses who are excited by change.

These positions will be based in the Manawatu locality and provide some services across the rohe. The successful applicant / s will be able to demonstrate a level of knowledge and skill in the assessment and management mental health presentations within a community setting.

The roles will also include the capacity to be part of a new model of care Te Mātāpuna o te Ora which focuses on an integrated treatment approach for those who would benefit from mental health and addiction services.

We are looking for candidates who are highly motivated, committed to ensuring culturally responsive care, able to work across teams, and committed to a strengths based recovery approach that supports people and family / whanau to achieve their goals.

MidCentral District Health Board is committed to ensuring that children and young people are safe from abuse and harm. As part of our commitment to children and young people, and in line with the Vulnerable Children Act 2014, appointment to positions that involve regular or overnight contact with children will include worker safety checks.

These checks are in addition to the requirement to have a satisfactory police clearance. Further information will be provided to shortlisted candidates.

General Information

MidCentral District Health Board employs more than 2500 staff at Manawatu, Palmerston North, Tararua and Horowhenua and Otaki districts.

Palmerston North Hospital is a 350 bed secondary hospital, which services an urban population of 80,000 and a total population catchment of 168,000.

In addition, the hospital is a teaching hospital, and is associated with both Auckland and Otago medical schools.

Palmerston North is a major university city and is at the hub of key routes to the central North Island ski fields, and river adventures.

Wellington the capital city, is only a two hour journey by road, as are the wine growing regions of Hawke's Bay and Wairarapa.
