He angitūtanga : About the Role
We have an exciting role as a Ranger in the Heritage and Visitors team based in Warkworth. The work involves walking the length and breadth of our many tracks and keeping them to the highest standard with shovels, weed eaters and a smile in hand.
Our popular tracks include Goldie Bush Te Henga, Mt William and Okura Bush walkways. Our Historic sites include many significant pa and Fort Takapuna.
You will also be responsible for :
Maintenance and improvement of visitor assets, including facilities and amenities
Maintenance of significant historic sites
Visitor risk and hazard management systems
Managing contract work for track maintenance when necessary
He kōrero mōu : What we are looking for
The successful applicant must be able to work within a team and independently. You need to be a team player but is also self-motivated, a keen learner and a problem solver.
Has experience in facilities, amenities and historic site maintenance and / or relevant qualifications
Has carpentry or landscaping experience
NZQA Chainsaw qualified
Has a strong focus on Health and Safety and helps promote a safe working culture
Can help plan and report on a variety of work functions
Ability to use a range of computer software applications including Asset Management Systems, GPS devices and GIS mapping will be an advantage
Has experience and aptitude for working in bush environments
Experience and qualifications with use of chainsaws, scrub bars, 4WDS, machinery is highly desirable.
Current First Aid Certificate preferred
