Excellent command of English Language is desirable.Skills / Qualifications Required : We areseeking an enthusiastic person who is keen to learn with great work ethics.
The ideal candidate should have following skills : Ideally have a degree in gender studies, social policy, international development or sociology.
Excellent written, communication, advocacy and negotiation skills.Relevant work experience in fundraising will be helpful.
Ability to work under pressure and meet funding targets and application deadlines.Good knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Lateral thinking & ability to think out of the box is desirable.Be able to lobby and advocate for new projects and their funding.
Ability to build good interpersonal relationship with staff, funder's networks.Ability to utilize international instruments to advocate for change improving status of women with Asian, Middle Eastern, African and Cantonese communities.
Ability to advocate a relevant social issues, background and understanding of media and publicity would be a huge advantage.
Genuine understanding of ethnic / race relations on national and international level.Multi-lingual desirable (with knowledge of at least one Asian, African or Middle Eastern language apart from English).
Be empathetic towards working with women and children.Full driving license required.Tasks : Engaging in the development and writing of funding applications.
Exploring new channels for funding opportunities.Establish new connections and enhance existing relationships with external stakeholders including key funding agencies.
Run national and international campaigns on violence and other issues against women and children.Develop media strategies, write media release and represent Shakti in media.
Make submission on national and international issues relating to the well-being and status of women and children from Asian, Middle Eastern, African and Cantonese communities.
Salary will commensurate with qualifications and experience. The candidate must ideally have valid Work Visa / PR / New Zealand Residency.
