About the role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated transportation engineer to provide coordinated integrated implementation and delivery of all transportation strategies and plan and operation of the Transportation networks.
You will be responsible for providing transportation and planning expertise in order to help deliver the transportation strategies and plans to improve the operation of the transportation networks.
There will be a strong relationship management element to this position as you will need to work across a range of stakeholders.
To actively contribute to the leadership of the organisation and strengthen its performance culture.
Active transport is a key method of transport for Napier and this role is required to manage this activity including travel planning with schools and businesses as well as the walking and cycling capital works programme.
To be considered for this role, you will need to have proven traffic and transportation experience, ideally from within the local government environment.
You will be involved in the preparation of various transportation strategies, safety reviews, provide advice to the district plan review and subsequent plan changes, represent Council in hearings and present to Council and the public.
