This position plays an important role in overseeing and undertaking wastewater, tradewaste, solid waste, transfer stations and septage stations sampling work to ensure councils' operations are compliant.

This role will involve a mixture of inside and outdoors work.

Duties include water sampling and associated logistics to do with river, groundwater, wastewater, solid waste, air quality and drinking water work and aims to contribute to our knowledge around environmental quality and council consent compliance performance.

You will provide and undertake processing and analysis of data to support a range of environmental and operational monitoring programs within council.

To be successful in this role you will need :

  • a relevant environmental degree
  • quality focussed
  • organised and practical
  • competent with data and computer systems
  • a natural ability to build key relationships
  • to be comfortable with handling wastewater samples
