These are 6 or 12 month Fixed Term positions and we welcome applications from those seeking to qualify as a Radiation Therapist in December 2021.

The Radiation Oncology team is vibrant, dynamic, and dedicated to the provision of an efficient, high quality, patient focused treatment service that includes a diverse range of advanced techniques.

Our service is located in Wellington Hospital, and has a complement of modern equipment including three Linear Accelerators with IGRT / VMAT / FFF / Gating and Stereotactic Options, a Superficial X-ray unit, an HDR Brachytherapy unit, our own CT scanner, and an integrated networked single-vendor based treatment planning, treatment, and patient management system.

Access to MR and PET imaging is also available.Duties

  • Provide a quality Pre-Treatment and Radiation Treatment Service to our patients (Includes rostering to Simulation, CT, Planning, Mould Room, and Treatment Machines)
  • Participate in Shift Work and On-Call Rosters
  • Provide care to patients that contributes to optimum health outcomes
  • Maintain annual practicing certificate and core competencies (including CPR and Manual Handling)
  • Contribute to continuous Quality Improvement activities within the service
  • Comply with responsibilities under the Health & Safety in Employment Act 1992
  • Be committed to the values and goals of CCDHBSkills & Experience
  • Patient-focused approach to care
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Registered (or eligible for) with the NZ Medical Radiation Technologists Board
  • NZ Citizenship or NZ Work Visa
