We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Senior Accountant with a passion for accounting to join our Business Advisory division based in Auckland.

This position will enable you to work on a wide portfolio of clients including SME's, trusts, partnerships, and companies across a broad range of industry sectors.

You will also assist Managers and Partners in mentoring others within your team, lead change, work efficiently and effectively, and maintain positive relationships with existing clients.

The Role :

Our Business Advisory Division is committed to providing compliance accounting work, advice to clients, innovative solutions and service excellence to large middle market businesses and small to medium enterprises across New Zealand.

Key responsibilities :

Assist in preparing business advice and / or producing complex special purpose reports, annual financial statements, tax returns and reconciliations for companies, partnerships, trusts and a range of individual businesses.

Work on business advisory projects such as : budgets and cashflows, KPI dashboards and management reporting, our virtual CFO offering, developing business plans, cloud accounting advisory, etc.

Assist with managing and developing a portfolio of clients across a broad range of industries, ensuring jobs are completed effectively by meeting technical standards and deadlines, within budget.

Assist with general bookkeeping duties

Liaise with the IRD and other Government bodies on client matters

Ensure all documentation including work papers and client files are maintained in line with Findex Group compliance requirements

Utilise your strong Excel skills and practical experience with cloud accounting products (e.g. Xero, MYOB).

Maintain up to date technical knowledge to ensure compliance with all statutory and relevant regulatory requirements

What you need to be successful :

An accounting degree

Achieved or commenced CA or CPA qualification

At least 3-4 years of proven accounting experience

Strong commercial acumen paired with sound technical accounting and analytical skills

Accounting experience across a variety of Cloud Accounting systems

Genuine desire to be an enthusiastic and active contributor to our growing team

Ability to develop positive relationships with key stakeholders and clients

Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise your workload
