The role

We are seeking to appoint a Teaching Fellow in Physical Education, Sport and Exercise Sciences. In this role you will contribute to the sociocultural areas of the teaching programme.

  • Support the Coordinator of SPEX101 (Sport, Science & Society) and other SPESES Socio-cultural papers at both undergraduate and graduate level for example papers and modules related to : Sport & Exercise Psychology, Sport Development & Management, Sport & Exercise Sociology, Sport Media, Sports Coaching, and Māori Physical Education and Health.
  • Assist with marking, course and Blackboard administration.
  • Provide student support, course advice and pastoral care.
  • Contribute to the continuing development of the teaching programmes within the School.
  • You will also teach undergraduate and postgraduate students and develop teaching materials and assessment of student performance.
  • Your skills and experience

  • Postgraduate Degree (PhD preferred) in the Socio-cultural aspects of sport and exercise.
  • Knowledge of the SPESES Sociocultural curriculum at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
  • Tertiary teaching experience including organising tutorials, marking assessments and general administration of SPESES sociocultural-related curriculum.
  • Experience with large undergraduate papers is desirable.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
