At Disability Support Services (DSS) weprovide support to people who have disabilities to live lives that reflecttheir personal aspirations and choices.
DSS provides support to over 250 peoplein a variety of residential settings across the Nelson / Tasman andMarlborough regions.
In residential and work environments we supporteach person to manage their day to day lives in ways and at times that work forthem.
some needsupport to participate in their local communities and some need communicationand behavioural support. We also work to provide family / whanau time tore-energise and spend time with other important people, while their youngperson stays in one of our respite houses.
We actively encourage people to pursue their dreams and try out newexperiences, and can guarantee that no two days working at DSS are ever thesame.
We also work collaboratively and in partnershipwith Mental Health and Addictions, Youth Justice, Oranga Tamariki, and othercommunity organisations to meet the needs of people we support.
N.B. Disability Support Services are part of Nelson Marlborough Health, weare not however a medical / clinical service. We are a community baseddisability support service focused on quality of life outcomes and the EnablingGood Lives Principles.
Ngā mōhiohio e pā ana ki tēnei mahi (About this position)
This is a permanent part-time position, working 64 hours per fortnight (0.8 FTE).
Shift : 2.00PM to 10.00PM, Monday to Thursday .

We are looking for people with a can-doattitude, who can work with children and adults as part of a proactive supportteam.
You will follow individual plans and understand the importance ofconsistency in assisting people to achieve a great life.

Your hourly rate willbe $21.50 to $27.00 dependent upon your qualifications as recognised under theCare and Support Workers (Pay Equity) Settlement Act 2017.
This position isclassified by Immigration as ANZSCO 423111 and applicants for this positionmust be NZ or Australian Citizens, or have NZ Permanent Residency, or a validNZ work visa.
Appointment andongoing employment will be conditional upon criminal record / police checks - youmust declare any convictions and / or pending charges on your application form.
This will include checks under the Children Act 2014.
