The Research and Development Chemist (RDC) is a pivotal role responsible for conducting research and development work in organic chemistry on topics as assigned from time to time for the purpose of advancing the company's technological and commercial success.
The RDC works with the core R&D team and reports to the CTO.
This role is based in Rosedale, Auckland and is primarily a lab-based, accountable to create or develop working chemistry for use in the company's products and processes relating to the company's novel chemical technology.
Implementation of the Company's Research and Development Strategy through the development of specific chemistry, associated processes, and other tangible solutions.
Identification of possible developments not already assigned and, where agreed and authorised, pursue these developments.
Collaborate with, and support other departments within the company, to advance the, Intellectual Property, construction, deployment and commercialisation of the technology.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND CAPABILITIES
A University degree in the field of organic chemistry
You will need a minimum of two years work experience in a relevant field
Experience working with chemical processes and a variety of laboratory instrumentation
Experience in organo-metallic chemistry
An R&D application focus
Team orientation with the ability to put the good of the team ahead of self- interest when appropriate
Contribute to the development and subsequent implementation of H&S policies and procedures that will confirm the company as a quality organisation
Excellent English written and oral communication skills
Strong preparation and presentation of reports
