About the role :

A vacancy has arisen for an experienced Leader to join our dynamic team in our Rural Supplies store in Kaikoura on a 12 month fixed term period from July 2021-August 2022.

In this role you'll be responsible for leading a team of salespeople to provide technical sales advice and services to a range of agricultural customers.

You will be responsible for the efficient and profitable operation of the store in line with company strategy and values, and you will work with the wider team in the region to grow our market share and business presence in the community.

Administration, compliance, inventory and staff management are also important parts of this role, so you'll be computer savvy with strong oral, written and interpersonal skills.

Alongside the primary Store Manager duties this particular role will also maintain an element of Technical Field Representative components / duties and this provides the opportunity to deal with clients in the field and provide technical solutions.

You will be highly organised and enjoy working in an autonomous environment dealing with a wide range of customers and colleagues.

The Kaikoura region provides a range of various farming systems that you will become immersed in and not many other locations offer the opportunity to go fishing after a rewarding day providing technical solutions to our clients!

Duties & Responsibilities :

  • Identify and pursue opportunities for growth with existing and potential clients
  • Complete required store administration and inventory management processes in line with approved company procedures
  • Prepare, submit and monitor annual sales budgets for your store
  • Provide effective management of the store team including coaching, appraisals and individual and team development.
  • Element of Technical Field Representative components / duties e.g. delivery of product to clients within the Kaikoura region
  • Skills & Experience :

  • Proven leadership, management & sales skills preferably in a retail environment
  • New Zealand agricultural sector knowledge, experience and technical expertise
  • Excellent level of oral and written communication and be able to relate well to your team and our customers
  • A background in administration and inventory management
  • A full, current NZ driver licence.
