  • We are looking for an intermediate Mechanical engineer to join our Multidiscipline water team.
  • You will be based in our vibrant Dunedin office.
  • You will be part of a dynamic team working closely with our local clients to deliver projects whilst enjoying the awesome Otago lifestyle and office culture.
  • This is an exciting opportunity for a professional engineer developing a track record of successfully delivering projects and working collaboratively with our clients and colleagues in remote offices.
  • You will join a team that works on Water infrastructure projects, not only locally, but across New Zealand and the wider Asia Pacific region.

  • You will work alongside our Senior and Principal Engineers to support and grow the business whilst ensuring your own development is second to none.

  • What you need to bring

  • Our preferred candidate for this role will have proven technical experience in diverse aspects of Mechanical Engineering for water infrastructure projects.
  • You will be a people person, with exceptional communication skills and the technical understanding in your discipline.
  • You will have proven experience in leading diverse teams and managing resources.
  • You will understand Mechanical CAD software requirements.
  • You will be experienced dealing with a range of clients and stakeholders including local authorities, government bodies and commercial companies.
  • In this exciting position, your own self-management skills will be as important as your technical and project management ones.
  • You will need to be able to prioritize workloads whilst maintaining strong and trusting working relationships with our Clients' and colleague's both locally and across the broader Stantec team.

  • You will have strong client facing skills and experience.
  • You will be able to work with remote teams to deliver projects to local clients.
  • Key requirements are a BE Mechanical or equivalent degree, plus a minimum of 5 years professional experience in the consulting or engineering industry.
  • Looking to achieve CPEng or equivalent
