  • Te Papa Venues is an exciting and dynamic brand, delivering over 900 functions and events per year, primarily at the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa, but also through our catering operations at Parliament and Circa Theatre.

    We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Account Manager to join our busy Venues Sales team.

    You will be a strong communicator with excellent client relationship building skills, have great negotiation and sales skills and be able to quickly establish yourself as a key contact for all of our venues clients, both current and prospective.

    This role is based in Wellington at Te Papa, however you will also be required to attend major road shows, exhibitions and sales events within New Zealand and / or the Asia Pacific region on occasion.

    Key skills and attributes for this role include :

  • A proven track record in sales in the hospitality, travel or tourism industry
  • A self-starter with excellent listening and influencing skills
  • Experience in market research and planning in a sales role
  • Proven experience in building key business relationships and converting these relationships to revenue
  • The ability to organise and prioritise work according to agreed targets
  • The ability to think laterally and creatively
  • The ability to work both alone and as part of a team
  • Flexible working days and hours will be considered for the right candidate.
