  • Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role

    The Ministry for Primary Industries' Procurement and Commercial Management team is a recognised leader within Government.

    As a Commercial Manager you will manage a high performing team of Procurement Specialists. You will work alongside your team to enable them to find pragmatic solutions that best meet their customers' needs, as well as the needs of the organisation.

    Not only will you manage a team, you will be pivotal in driving process improvement, critically evaluating past performance to shape and drive what can be done in the future as we continue our transformation from good to great.

    In addition, you will have a large focus on strengthening relationships across the organisation and providing sound commercial advice.

    Mōu - About You

    To be successful, you will be a savvy procurement professional who is unfazed by complex commercial situations and is comfortable working in a dynamic environment.

    You will have exceptional interpersonal skills and a strong ability to influence and formulate cross-functional relationships both within the organisation and externally.

    You'll have had previous experience in leading a team and be a collaborative manager who empowers their team with the skills they need to achieve.

    You will be focused on growing talent as much as developing and advising on strategic solutions for the big picture.
