This is a fixed term role for two (2) years.
A new exciting role has been developed to support the Department of Conservation in its continued response to the Kauri dieback disease.
The successful candidate will support the existing operational and science activities to ensure best practice management across the Department.
The role will require ability to co-ordinate existing operational work while keeping abreast of the science and technical progress to ensure activities remain up to date and best practice.
You will be ensuring staff, stakeholders and conservation land users are kept up to date and understand their responsibilities.
Work will also include ensuring good conservation input into the work being led by Ministry for Primary Industries on developing a National Pest Management Plan and its wider kauri dieback programme of work.
The role is suited to someone with an interest in biosecurity responses and is able to effectively link across the Department and external parties to co-
ordinate and ensure a common understanding across this important work. You will have some science knowledge and an ability to translate that for operational activities.
We are seeking to fill this role on either a fixed term contract or a secondment basis. For a secondment you will need the permission of your manager before you apply.
