Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a driven, intuitive and enthusiastic engineer to join our Auckland based Technical Service team.

This customer facing role will have you supporting our extensive customer base in the food, dairy, diagnostic, academic and scientific research industry through installation, calibration, maintenance and break down repair of Thermo Fisher Scientific's instrumentation.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Customer consultation and operator training in routine use of Thermo Fisher Scientific's range of Instrumentation.
  • Actively engage the commercial team working together to achieve company goals.
  • Assist commercial team with technical support, training and product demonstrations.
  • Be highly responsive and proactive in dealing with our customer's needs to ensure customer satisfaction is a priority.
  • Perform in accordance with the AS / NZS ISO9001 : 2015 Quality Standard, as detailed in the Company's Quality Manual.
  • Perform to designated goals and KPI’s of job turn-around-time, response time, repair rate and customer allegiance.
  • Promote and develop the Technical Service brand and capabilities.
  • Take ownership for complete customer satisfaction in all aspects of technical and customer service.
  • Perform in accordance all relevant certification procedures, such as IANZ, ISO.
  • Manage and own the entire service process from job allocation to completion, including administration of job closure and parts accounting.
  • Actively seek out new opportunities to grow our Service and Sales pipeline.
  • Minimum Requirements / Qualifications :

  • Tertiary qualification in a technical / electronic / mechanical discipline.
  • A current electrical practicing licence to a minimum of EAS and registration with the NZ EWRB.
  • A current full New Zealand drivers licence.
  • Experience in service engineering within the scientific market and / or familiarity with scientific products preferred.
  • Experience within a technical support role and strong analytical skills preferred.
  • Effective interpersonal, communication and listening skills.
  • An individual who has the ability to work autonomously, and has an enthusiastic, professional and positive attitude while being a supportive team player.
  • Ability to create and foster meaningful and beneficial partnerships with our customers, suppliers and peers.
