About the role and who we are looking for :
We are looking for an enthusiastic Cook to work at our Senior Living Site at CHT Glynavon Rest Home , Te Puke, Bay of Plenty.
This is a permanent part-time role with a minimum of 18 hours per week. Hours are Saturday and Sunday 09.00 - 18.00. You will be working with a team of dedicated individuals who are passionate about food service , with good opportunities for development.
There is able parking and you will be supplied with free uniforms.
You will be responsible for :
In this position, you will be responsible for cooking, preparing and serving quality meals for the residents twice a day, according to dietitian specifications and ensuring the quality of every dish we serve! You will be supervising staff, assisting the Chef manager when needed, monitoring and maintaining food safety compliance including, company processes compliance and proactively dealing with food related issues and concerns.
You will need to assist with ordering and menu development as well as maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen. This position requires a person with leadership skills and a person who takes pride in personal presentation.
A friendly and helpful nature is important to us, the customer and client.
Ideal skills and experience you will :
If you're our ideal candidate you will have experience working in a commercial kitchen, be familiar with bulk food cooking and requirements in an aged care environment and ideally you will hold food safety certificates (Unit Standard 167 and 168) or be happy to train for one.
You will need to have the ability to work independently and confidently but most importantly you will demonstrate a passion for great food, customer service and quality.
